Gamers can look forward to the release of new video game titles this week across various platforms. These video games will come on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Games don’t get much sillier than Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble, the latest version of Sega’s most adorable franchise. The premise is simple enough: You control a monkey in a ball, and you zip around 3D mazes while collecting fruit and other goodies. You can compete against up to 15 other simians in a variety of multiplayer games like “Ba-Boom!” — an explosive version of hot potato. Or you can take on adventure mode, with more than 200 levels that you can explore solo or with up to three friends. Peel out Tuesday, June 25, on Nintendo Switch, as per an AP report.

It’s December 1975, and you’re stuck on an oil rig off the coast of Scotland. To make this Christmas even bluer, you’re all alone — except for some mysterious entity that seems to have wiped out the rest of the crew. That’s the setup for Still Wakes the Deep, the latest mystery from U.K. studio The Chinese Room. The developers are known for off-kilter interactive tales like Dear Esther and Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, and their new adventure aims to combine the creeping dread of those titles with full-bore Lovecraftian horror. Take a deep breath and dive in Tuesday on Xbox X/S, PlayStation 5 or PC, AP reported.

Meanwhile, in a disappointing development for gamers, Gamestop's CEO Ryan Cohen said the struggling video game retailer will focus on cutting costs and long-term profitability in an annual shareholder meeting last week.

Cohen added this would involve a "smaller network of stores" — suggesting that more store closures could be in sight. No further details of reductions were immediately provided.
