Two new video games that gamers can play on PlayStation, Xbox X/S, and PC are "Civilization VII" and 'Avowed'. While, "Civilization VII" is already available on PlayStation 5/4, Xbox X/S/One, Switch or PC, 'Avowed' will be released on February 18.

Civilization VII

The world today seems utterly chaotic, so what better time to experiment with starting the whole thing over from scratch? That’s always been the appeal of Firaxis Games’ long-running Civilization series, and Sid Meier’s "Civilization VII" adds some intriguing new twists to the formula.

First, each session is divided into three eras — Antiquity, Exploration and Modern — and each era ends with an empire-shattering crisis. You can bounce around between different cultures — say, starting in ancient China and winding up in the U.S.A.

And you have a fresh batch of leaders, from Confucius to Machiavelli to Harriet Tubman, to lean on for advice and inspiration. As usual, you get to decide whether to be peaceful and diplomatic or run around blowing your neighbors to smithereens.

"Civilization VII" is available on PlayStation 5/4, Xbox X/S/One, Switch or PC.

Avowed

Congratulations! You’ve been named the Aedyran envoy to a mysterious island called the Living Lands. The bad news is that a lot of its residents want nothing to do with you, since your predecessors have been jerks about trying to colonize the place.

Throw in a devastating plague called the Dreamscourge and you have an idea of the challenges that await in Avowed. It’s the latest adventure from Obsidian Entertainment, best known for the role-playing epics Pillars of Eternity and The Outer Worlds. 'Avowed' takes place in the Pillars fantasy world, so expect plenty of sword-and-sorcery action as you battle the island’s bloodthirsty scoundrels and mutated monsters.

'Avowed' is set to be released on Xbox X/S and PC on February 18.
