Why are investigators revisiting locations tied to Nancy Guthrie?

Authorities searching for Nancy Guthrie are now taking a closer look at places connected to her recent public appearances.

The latest development emerged through journalist Brian Entin, who discussed the investigation on his podcast Brian Entin Investigates on Wednesday, March 11, as per a report by The Express.

According to his report, federal investigators have been reviewing locations that appeared in a television feature filmed with Nancy and her daughter, Savannah Guthrie.

Last November, the pair filmed a segment in Tucson for the Today Show, where Savannah works as a co-host. The feature showed them visiting places connected to Savannah’s childhood and memories growing up in the city.

After Nancy’s disappearance, the footage began circulating widely online. Investigators have since returned to some of the establishments featured during filming as they piece together the timeline of events leading up to February, as per a report by The Express.

What questions did FBI agents ask restaurant staff?

One of the locations revisited by investigators was a Mexican restaurant in Tucson where filming had taken place. Workers at the restaurant told Brian Entin that FBI agents visited the establishment to speak with staff members.

The purpose of the visit, according to those employees, was to determine whether anything unusual happened during the filming.

Investigators reportedly asked workers specific questions about the day Savannah Guthrie and her mother visited the restaurant, as per a report by The Express.

One question posed to employees was reportedly, "Was there anyone here who looked suspicious when Savannah was here filming with her mom?"

Staff members were also asked whether there had been "anyone who wanted to take pictures or who got angry or who was lingering around in a creepy way."

Authorities have not publicly confirmed whether the restaurant interviews are directly connected to Nancy’s disappearance. However, the questioning suggests investigators are reviewing footage and eyewitness accounts connected to the family’s recent public appearances.

How has the investigation unfolded since Nancy disappeared?

Nancy Guthrie disappeared from her Tucson residence during the early morning hours of February 1.

Her disappearance triggered a major search effort involving both the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Since then, the case has drawn significant attention locally and across the country.

Investigators have continued to pursue every possible lead as they attempt to determine what happened in the hours before Nancy vanished.

Interest in the case grew further after an older television clip resurfaced online. The segment originally aired on the Today Show in 2013 and shows Nancy welcoming cameras into her Tucson home.

In the video, she demonstrates how to properly make a bed while chatting with her daughter.

However, the lighthearted moment has taken on a very different tone in the context of the investigation.

Discussing the clip on his podcast, Brian Entin said, "It's just so weird because the clip is actually shot in her mom's bedroom and she was still in that house since the '90s...it's the same bedroom that she was, you know, likely abducted from."

As the search enters its sixth week, officials say they are continuing to examine every lead available.

So far, authorities have not publicly named any suspects, persons of interest or vehicles connected to the case.

Savannah Guthrie has also announced a $1 million reward from the family for information that could lead to Nancy’s safe return.

The investigation remains ongoing as officials continue gathering information and speaking with people who may have encountered Nancy during her recent time in Tucson.
