Recent reports suggested that US President- elect Donald Trump will finally have his new Air Force One and Boeing is planning to deliver it as soon as the work gets done.

Following years of delays and over $2 billion in losses, Boeing is finally nearing the completion of the new Air Force One aircraft which is known as the VC-25B and is based on the larger 747-8 model, reported Business Insider. Originally contracted for $3.9 billion in the year 2018, the project has eventually faced significant challenges which included supply chain issues and labor shortages while pushing the delivery date from 2024 to 2027.

According to Business Insider, US President- elect Donald Trump, who eventually renegotiated the deal during his first term, is now all set to fly on the new planes following his reelection as the US President in 2024.

The new aircraft will feature advanced security and communication systems which are designed to function as a mobile command center during emergencies, asserted Business Insider. However, the paint scheme has shifted from Donald Trump's proposed red, white and blue design to a light blue palette reminiscent of previous US Presidential jets since the Kennedy era.

Boeing's ongoing struggles with production have been highlighted by executives, who actually acknowledged that the fixed-price contract model has led to substantial financial setbacks for the company, noted Business Insider. While Boeing continues to address these production hurdles, it actually remains committed to delivering two highly modified aircraft that meet the stringent requirements of presidential transport.
