'Never seen before': Catch a glimpse of first image shared by NASA's James Webb Space Telescope
NASA has released the first image sent by the $10 billion James Webb Space Telescope. It is a picture of the universe that has never been seen before.

The image, which was released publicly by US President Joe Biden during a White House briefing, depicts SMACS 0723. It is a 4.6 billion-year-old galaxy cluster, which acts as a gravitational lens to amplify the much fainter and small items behind it. According to the NASA, this telescope took the most refined and precise picture of the universe, clearly showing every minute particle.
Biden said it was a remarkable day because the first photograph from NASA's telescope offered a new perspective on how the universe has evolved.
The sole purpose of the telescope
The $10 billion James Webb Space Telescope was put into orbit on December 25 and is the most powerful and efficient telescope ever built. This telescope departed from Earth in December 2021, and in January 2022, it finally arrived at its cosmic spot after traveling for a million miles from the Earth. Since that day, experts have confirmed that the device is functioning correctly by testing it, adjusting the mirrors and allowing the telescope to cool down.
According to the telescope's operations project scientist, this telescope has been created to locate the first group of galaxies that emerged post big bang. This is the fundamental theoretical objective for designing this telescope. Mission managers intended to perform early release observations before officially declaring the device open. NASA plans to share more images.
Additionally, NASA also has plans to share photos of the Southern Ring Nebula, the Carina Nebula and Stephan's Quintet, a collection of cosmos spotted in 1787, in addition to the image featuring the oldest galaxies ever observed. There would also be a review of the light originating from the enormous planet WASP-96b, orbiting outside our solar system. On Tuesday morning, the other pictures are expected to be released.
