Determined to protect her family, Sidney must face the horrors of her past to put an end to the bloodshed once and for all." The trailer begins with a couple checking in to stay at the original "Scream" house, which now operates as an Airbnb. Following an attack on the pair by a Ghostface killer, the footage cuts to Sidney Prescott receiving a threatening phone call.
"Hello, Sidney. Did you miss me?" the mysterious caller says. "Nice little town you've found. You and your pretty daughter. Reminds me of where we grew up."

The trailer concludes with dialogue that fans believe sounds like franchise veteran Matthew Lillard's voice stating, "This is gonna be fun."
Campbell's return after salary dispute
"Scream 7" arrives three years after Campbell announced her departure from the franchise due to a salary dispute. The actress's return was confirmed in March 2024 for the seventh film in the series.
"I'm really excited about it," Campbell told "Good Morning America" in July 2024. "You Never expect a movie to be as successful as that and you never expect a movie to turn into a franchise. For a film like that, with a horror movie, you would hope that perhaps that can happen, but for it to become such a part of pop culture is beyond."
Cast and creative team for Scream 7
Along with Campbell's return, the seventh franchise installment features Courteney Cox reprising her role as Gale Weathers. The cast includes Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Anna Camp, Joel McHale, Mckenna Grace, Michelle Randolph, Jimmy Tatro, Asa Germann, Celeste O'Connor, Ethan Embry, Timothy Simons and Mark Consuelos.
Kevin Williamson directs the film from a script he co-wrote with Guy Busick. Williamson also wrote the original 1996 "Scream" film that launched the franchise.
Theatrical release date set for 2026
