Two sources who did not wish to be identified on the basis of fear of retaliation claimed that nearly 20 employees were fired from the FDA service as soon as DOGE began making changes to staffing across multiple federal departments, according to a USA Today report.

20 of those who were fired were somehow linked to the investigation surrounding Elon Musk's brain chip company Neuralink. Clinical-trial applications by Neuralink were one of the primary points of investigation by these FDA employees, but the USA Today report also mentions that the purge may not have entirely happened due to these employees' work on Neuralink, as claimed by the two sources.


Meanwhile, the FDA or the White House has not responded in this regard to these developments about the purge.
