Netflix's hit series "Sex Education" will conclude with its upcoming season 4, scheduled to premiere on September 21. The streaming giant has unveiled the first teaser trailer for the highly anticipated final season. Series creator, lead writer and executive producer Laurie Nunn expressed her gratitude to fans and the dedicated team behind the show in a heartfelt letter, emphasizing their pride in the series and their excitement to share the final installment.

The decision to end the show with season 4 seemed inevitable as several cast members had already announced their departure. Simone Ashley (Olivia), Tanya Reynolds (Lily), Patricia Allison (Ola) and Rakhee Thakrar (Emily Sands) will not be returning. However, Ncuti Gatwa, who gained recognition for his portrayal of Eric Effiong, will still appear in season 4 before embarking on his new role as the lead in the popular British series "Doctor Who."

Returning cast members include Asa Butterfield, Gillian Anderson, Aimee-Lou Wood, Emma Mackey, Connor Swindells, Kedar Williams-Stirling, Mimi Keene, George Robinson, Chinenye Ezeudu, Dua Saleh, Alistair Petrie, Samantha Spiro, Rakhee Thakrar, Jim Howick and Daniel Ings. The new season will also introduce an array of fresh faces, including Dan Levy, Thaddea Graham, Lisa McGrillis, Marie Reuther, Jodie Turner Smith, Eshaan Akbar, Felix Mufti, Anthony Lexa, Alexandra James, Bella Maclean, Reda Elazouar and Imani Yahshua.

The official synopsis for season 4 reveals that following the closure of Moordale Secondary, protagonists Otis (played by Butterfield) and Eric (portrayed by Gatwa) face their first day at Cavendish Sixth Form College. The new college presents a culture shock to the Moordale students with its emphasis on daily yoga, sustainability and a popular group known for their kindness. As the characters navigate this unfamiliar territory, they also grapple with personal challenges, including romantic relationships, academic pursuits and self-discovery.
