Netflix to discontinue basic ad-free plan.
A more expensive ad-free plan will replace Netflix's Basic ad-free option, which will be phased out in the US and France. As a result, customers will have to pick between the two. This move is in line with Netflix's last one, which ended the Basic plan for new users in the summer of last year and later for current users in the UK and Canada. Uncertainty surrounds whether members would be automatically transferred to an alternative plan, although a spokeswoman stated that impacted users have been alerted and have 30 days to switch plans, as per the reports of Microsoft Start News.

New Netflix subscription options

Netflix provides a "Standard with ads" plan for $6.99 a month for people on a budget. Users can download material to two devices and watch almost all movies and TV series on two supported devices at once with this package. This ad-supported plan offers significant entertainment value, according to co-CEO of Netflix Greg Peters.

Subscribers can choose the "Standard" plan, which has the same features as the ad-based plan but no commercials, for $15.49 per month. As part of its attempt to lessen password sharing, the plan also allows for the inclusion of an additional member.

Company performance and growth

Netflix has grown significantly since adding advertising and addressing unauthorized viewers. The business attracted about 55 million paying clients, greatly increasing its revenue. For the sixth consecutive quarter, Netflix had an increase in members of 8 million between April and June, up 37% over the same period the year before.

Netflix exceeded analyst estimates in its most recent quarter, as its profit increased by 44% from the prior year to $2.15 billion, or $4.88 per share. Revenue exceeded expectations by 17% to reach $9.56 billion, up from the previous year's total.
