Netflix renews 'Sweet Tooth' for Season 2: All you may want to know

Netflix has announced that Sweet Tooth, the post-apocalyptic series based on Jeff Lemire's graphic novels, will be returning for its second season on April 27, 2023. Set in a world devastated by a pandemic, the series introduces hybrid children - endearing creatures that are half-human and half-animal.

Unfortunately, the timing of their appearance coincides with the pandemic, causing most humans to attribute the outbreak to the hybrids, leading to chaos. The show's uniqueness lies not only in the hybrids but also in its protagonist, Gus (Christian Convery), a young boy with antlers, who loves sweets and possesses an infectious level of hope and optimism. Sweet Tooth is the coziest dystopia that will soon be available for streaming.

According to Netflix, the upcoming second season of Sweet Tooth will see Gus and his fellow hybrids held captive by General Abbot and the Last Men, as a deadly new wave of the Sick looms. General Abbot plans to use the children to find a cure and consolidate his power. Meanwhile, Dr. Singh is looking to save his infected wife and is conducting experiments on the captive hybrids. Gus agrees to help Dr. Singh, leading him on a dark journey to discover his origins and his mother Birdie's role in the events leading up to The Great Crumble.


Outside the Preserve, Tommy Jepperd and Aimee Eden join forces to break the hybrids free, but their partnership is tested as Jepperd's secrets are revealed. As the past comes to light, it threatens the possibility of redemption in the present, and Gus and his found family find themselves on a collision course with Abbot and his evil forces, who seek to wipe them out once and for all.

Netflix has also released a few teaser images for the second season, including a look at Gus and his hybrid friends. The second season is set to premiere on April 27, 2023.
