Users across US report widespread Netflix streaming outage

Netflix is facing a large-scale streaming disruption in the United States, with thousands of users reporting the platform is down. Affected users attempting to access content are receiving a “title not available to watch instantly” message across multiple devices.

Outage-tracking service DownDetector began logging reports of the Netflix outage shortly before 9:40 p.m. EDT. By that time, the platform had received over 75,000 individual complaints. The issue appears to be widespread, affecting users across various states and device types.

On DownDetector, one user wrote, “Getting an error message ‘This title is not available to watch instantly. Please try another title.’ This happens when selecting anything to watch.” Another report read, “Netflix just crashed and burned in me watching anime… won’t work on any device.” A third user confirmed, “I’m getting ‘This title is not available to watch instantly’ for anything I play on all my devices.”


According to Netflix’s official help page, this error message typically indicates a problem with cached data stored on the user’s device. The site explains that such issues can prevent the Netflix app from functioning correctly and may require device troubleshooting or app reinstallation.

In addition to DownDetector reports, the streaming outage has generated widespread reaction on social media platforms. Users on X (formerly known as Twitter) expressed frustration and confusion over the disruption. Multiple posts cited interruptions during viewing, with some users noting that the error impacted all devices simultaneously.

Netflix has not yet released an official statement regarding the outage or its potential cause. There is no estimated time for service restoration at this stage.
