Nepal Finance Minister: A shocking video made its rounds on Tuesday featuring Nepal's Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel being chased and beaten by an infuriated mob on a public road, as per a report.

The now viral video shows over two dozen individuals chasing Paudel as he runs for his life, as per a News18 report. In the clip, one man can be seen kicking him while others continue to physically attack him, according to the report.

Gen Z Protest Started Over Corruption and Social Media Ban

This violent attack occurred in the midst of huge demonstrations all over Nepal, spearheaded by youth under the banner of Gen Z protests, as reported by News18. The demonstrators have been protesting against corruption and a government-imposed social media ban, according to the report.

Even after the government lifted the social media ban on Monday night, the demonstrations continued even on Tuesday, with protesters torching the residences of ministers and government offices, as per the News18 report.

Nepal's Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli Resigns After Protesters Set His Home on Fire

Earlier on Tuesday, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had stepped down after protesters had stormed to his home and also torched his home, according to the report. Oli said that, “I have resigned from the post of prime minister with effect from today… in order to take further steps towards a political solution and resolution of the problems," as quoted by News18.

Multiple Ministers Step Down Amid Growing Violence in Nepal

In addition to Oli, at least four ministers in his government have also resigned amid the unrest, according to the report. The protests have turned violent, killing at least 19 and injuring more than 300 during the Gen Z protest which took place on the streets of Kathmandu and other Nepalese cities on Monday, as reported by News18.

The protests have also attacked on other political figures, including Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Foreign Minister Arju Rana, who both got injured, according to the report.

Kathmandu Airport Shut Down

After the unrest started in Nepal, the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu has been closed completely, with the Nepali Army deployed in an effort to provide security, as per the News18 report.

Gen Z Protesters Demand Major Political Changes and Early Elections

The Gen Z protesters have demanded the dissolution of Nepal's Parliament, mass resignation of parliamentarians and even immediate suspension of those who gave “shoot to kill" or violent orders during the protests, according to the report. The group even urged that the interim government should be headed by a person recommended by protesters and, they have also demanded early elections, as per the News18 report.
