National Television Awards 2023 nominations have been announced and a number of popular shows have featured in that list.

National Television Awards 2023 shortlist nominations has been unveiled, featuring acclaimed shows like Beyond Paradise, Call the Midwife, and Ted Lasso. Among the contenders in the New Drama category, which promises tough competition, is the spin-off of Death in Paradise. It's joined by other contenders like the police drama Blue Lights, the prequel series Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, and the immensely popular Netflix series, Wednesday.

Happy Valley's third and final season has garnered significant acclaim, securing a spot in the Returning Drama category. This category also includes other strong contenders like Stranger Things 4, Call the Midwife, and Vera.

The leading stars, Sarah Lancashire and James Norton, have earned Drama Performance nominations. They're up against formidable opponents like Brenda Blethyn from Vera, Judy Parfitt from Call the Midwife, and India Amarteifio from Queen Charlotte.


In the Authored Documentary category, the late Deborah James is honored for her candid exploration of living with stage four bowel cancer in Deborah James: Bowelbabe in Her Own Words. This category also recognizes heartfelt documentaries such as Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now, Matt Willis: Fighting Addiction, and Rob Burrow: Living with MND.

A posthumous nomination has been bestowed upon the beloved Paul O’Grady for the final series of For the Love of Dogs in the Factual category. He competes against other strong contenders like Clarkson's Farm, Stacey Solomon’s Sort Your Life Out, and The Martin Lewis Money Show.

In the Reality Competition category, The Traitors is pitted against formidable rivals including Love Island, Race Across the World, and SAS: Who Dares Wins.
