NASCAR 2022: Here’s what the new season has offered its fans

In 2022, the NASCAR Cup Series has offered car enthusiasts all that they expect out of it. It also made newer fans by throwing in some surprises and adding some elements to make the tournament more adventurous than before. From late June, all the action will unfold in Nashville. Phoenix has been decided as the venue for the final championship race which will take place in the month of November.

While a large number of races have been conducted successfully, ten more races are left to be organized. This season was largely driven by some prominent themes that also determined the tone and tenor of the tournaments. Older trends made way for newer ideas and the organizers made a conscious effort to introduce an element of unpredictability this time.

Till now, 16 races have been conducted. 12 individual drivers have managed to win a race each. The drivers who secured multiple wins to their name were Joey Logano, Ross Chastain, William Byron and Denny Hamlin. Each of these drivers have won two races.


In most seasons of the NASCAR Cup Series, you come across drivers focusing on securing more points than winning a race. This time, however, the emphasis seems to have been on winning the races. The playoff format, which is being used in the tournament currently, was introduced in the year 2014. The drivers seem to have adopted themselves well to this format and fans, from what one hears, are of the opinion that this format has brought a dynamic energy to the game.
