NASA issues warning about 620-foot asteroid approaching Earth
NASA is always concerned when it gets to approaching asteroids towards the Earth, and now yet another building-sized asteroid has come very close to the Earth's proximity, making it a major risk factor, which the US space agency has raised serious concerns about.

How far is the JV33 asteroid?

The near-Earth asteroid, 2024 JV33, will make its closest approach towards the Earth of August 19, with a massive speed of 24,779 miles per hour, according to a MoneyControl report. Even though it will be one of the closest asteroids to ever approach the earth in recent times, it will be three times farther away from us than the distance of the moon.

The JV33 asteroid belong to the Apollo group of asteroids, that are in close proximity to the Earth and the solar system, but is typically away from causing any harm or damage to the planet. However, NASA is still working and contemplating around any possible potential harm to the Earth due to this rapidly approaching asteroid.

NASA observing similar asteroids

NASA always keeps a close eye on near-Earth objects flying in outer space, as they have a chance of approaching the Earth or event getting pulled into the Earth's orbit, in case it gets too near the magnetic pull. Similar asteroids and space rocks are therefore being observed by NASA in recent times, and this was the way they could suggest that JV33 was showing tendencies of dashing towards the Earth at great speeds.

Can the JV33 asteroid harm the planet?

There are minimal to no chances that the Earth could be drastically affected by the approaching new asteroid, which will cross the Earth at 2,850,000 miles, according to MoneyControl. However, NASA wishes to leave no stones unturned until our planet is safely out of harm's way.
