Naomi Osaka is missing from Wimbledon. Find out why
The famed tennis player, Naomi Osaka, has given this year's Wimbledon a miss. Find out why she decided to pass on the opportunity to participate in this year's tournament.

Till now, Naomi Osaka's seasons have been filled with injuries. She has accumulated only 17 matches under her belt because of repeated injuries. Her ranking also fell this week to 43.
Talking about her latest injury, Osaka wrote on Twitter that an injury to her left Achilles has made it impossible for her to participate in this year's Wimbledon.
Osaka wrote that her Achilles is not entirely recovered, which also affects her mentally. She also added that how one adapts to uncomfortable situations says heaps about one's character. She felt like life was continuously dealing with her cards, and she would never get used to them.
Osaka's last match was the first round of the French Open on 24th May. She lost the match to Amanda Anisimova.
In 2019, Naomi Osaka occupied the top ranking in Grand Slams. After she began her career, she won four Grand Slam titles on the hard court, which included the following –
US Open in 2018
Australian Open in 2019
US Open in 2020
Australian Open in 2021
However, after that, her ranking fell because of her continued absences from significant games. While Osaka has ruled out Wimbledon, she has not commented about her participation in the US Open. However, Osaka should remain hopeful of her return to the Grand Slams so she can once again put her name on the top.
This year too, Osaka is giving Wimbledon a miss. After the third round in 2018, Osaka has not won a single match at the All England Club. In the 2019 Wimbledon, Osaka lost the first round. In 2020, the tournament was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, she did not participate due to mental health issues.
