A Halloween celebration on Nantucket Island took an unexpected turn when local teens broke into a $2 million Airbnb to hold the party after being denied a booking. The incident left the homeowner surprised by the intruders' unusual care for the property.

What Happened

The incident began when Airbnb host Edith Stone Lentini received a booking inquiry for her home on Nantucket. The message stated that the booking was for a small Halloween party for a teen and friends. The request assured that the house would remain clean and intact. Lentini found the request suspicious and decided not to respond.

Ninth graders arrived first, followed by older students. The gathering was organized by a teen who had earlier contacted Lentini and later shared the setup on Snapchat.

Homeowner Alerted by Police

Lentini, who resides in Armonk, New York, learned about the incident from the Nantucket Police Department. Police informed her of the party after receiving a noise complaint. The homeowner expressed shock but was relieved that the house was not damaged.

The teens made efforts to protect the property. They removed pictures and mirrors from walls, moved furniture, and rolled up the white carpet. The only damage reported was sticky floors. Lentini acknowledged their efforts to minimize damage but emphasized the seriousness of the break-in.
