Competing for Colorado State, the 23-year-old launched a massive first throw of 19.01 meters - a mark that proved unbeatable through the event. Her commanding opening effort secured the championship, with her proud father Brock watching from the stands.
Mya, who last year claimed the women’s shot put title at the NCAA Division I Indoor Championships, reaffirmed her dominance outdoors with another stellar performance. In addition to her winning throw of 19.01 meters, Lesnar also registered the second-best mark of the event at 18.87 meters.
The only real challenge came from Illinois’ Abria Smith, who nearly closed the gap with a strong third-attempt throw of 18.85 meters. However, it wasn’t enough to dethrone Lesnar, who continued her reign as one of collegiate shot put’s elite athletes.
Mya’s father, Brock Lesnar, is a renowned WWE superstar and former mixed martial arts champion who held the UFC heavyweight title from November 2008 to October 2010.
