My Melody & Kuromi: All we know about Netflix stop-motion series
Netflix is introducing a stop-motion series titled My Melody & Kuromi. This series, based on Sanrio's popular characters, debuts in July. Directed by Tomoki Misato, it celebrates My Melody's 50th and Kuromi's 20th anniversaries.

My Melody & Kuromi features Sanrio’s characters, My Melody and Kuromi. My Melody debuted in 1975 and remains beloved. Kuromi, introduced in 2005, gained fame as My Melody’s rival but has a unique personality.

Creative Team
The series is directed by Tomoki Misato, known for Pui Pui Molcar. Misato expressed excitement about working on a meaningful project marking the anniversaries of both characters. He praised the challenges and creativity involved.Award-winning writer Shuko Nemoto penned the script during the pandemic. Nemoto worked closely with Misato and the producers through virtual meetings, ensuring a seamless collaborative process.
