A prequel to My Hero Academia will be released on Crunchyroll outside Asia on April 7. The series, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, follows Koichi Haimawari as he becomes a vigilante. The anime is produced by Bones Film and directed by Kenichi Suzuki.

A new prequel to the anime series My Hero Academia will be available for streaming on Crunchyroll. The series, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, will be released worldwide, except for Asia, in April.

The prequel series, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, will premiere on April 7. It will be available exclusively on Crunchyroll outside of Asia. New episodes will be released weekly on the same day as Japan.

Storyline of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes

The series follows Koichi Haimawari, a college student who once wanted to be a hero. Most of the population has superhuman abilities, but only a few become official heroes. Koichi's life changes when vigilante Knuckleduster saves him and Pop☆Step. They join him to fight crime without official approval.

Toho Co. released a new trailer and key visual for the series. The opening theme song, Kekka Orai, is performed by Kocchi no Kento. He is known for his viral song, Hai Yorokonde.

Production Team

Kenichi Suzuki is directing the series. He has worked on JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders and Cells at Work! The script and series composition are by Yosuke Kuroda, who worked on My Hero Academia and Trigun. Animation is handled by Bones Film.
