The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) 2023 are happening on Tuesday, September 12, celebrating outstanding music videos.

Rapper Saweetie will begin the event with a 90-minute pre-show at 2:30 pm PST/ 6:30 pm EST. The official ceremony will go live from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, at 5 pm PST/ 8 pm EST.



MTV VMAs 2023: How to Watch?


The VMAs can be watched live on MTV and simulcast on CMT, Comedy Central, Logo, BET, BET Her, MTV2, VH1, Nickelodeon and Paramount Network. For those without cable, the MTV website offers a full stream. US viewers can also catch it on Paramount+.


MTV VMAs 2023: Performers


Nicki Minaj, the host for the second consecutive year, will also perform. Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Demi Lovato, Olivia Rodrigo, Doja Cat, Fall Out Boy, Karol G, Kelsea Ballerini, Måneskin, Reneé Rapp, Shakira, Sabrina Carpenter, and Future are set to perform. Anitta, A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, Diddy, Future, Kaliii, Lil Wayne, Metro Boomin, NAV, Swae Lee, The Warning, Peso Pluma, Tomorrow x Together, and Stray Together will also feature. DMC, Doug E Fresh, Grandmaster Flash, and LL COOL J will perform in honor of hip-hop's 50th anniversary.

MTV VMAs 2023: Nominations


Taylor Swift leads with eight nominations. She is followed by SZA with six. Doja Cat, Kim Petras, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Olivia Rodrigo, and Sam Smith each received five nominations, while BLACKPINK, Diddy, and Shakira got four nominations.

The 33-year-old "Anti-Hero" singer has a chance to become the most awarded artist in VMA history if she wins at least six of her eight categories. She currently has 14 VMAs, trailing Madonna with 20 awards and Beyoncé with 16.
