Internet personality Jimmy Donaldson, popularly known as MrBeast, has finally revealed how much money he has in his bank account.

MrBeast, who has more than 371 million subscribers on YouTube, is considered among the most famous social media users across the globe. Well recognised for his wild challenge videos, he receives millions of views on almost every post on the video sharing platform.

Although MrBeast is often considered worth more than $1 billion on paper, many would be surprised to know that the internet sensation does not have that much money in his bank account.


Recently, the 26-year-old appeared in an episode of The Diary of the CEO with host Steven Bartlett. On the show, the YouTuber made a shocking claim about his bank account habits.

He said that he currently has less than $1 million in his bank account.

“In my actual bank account, I have less than $1 million,” Men's Journal quoted MrBeast as saying.

Where does the money go?

On the show, MrBeast claimed that he keeps a modest salary for himself, with most of it covering up his monthly expenses.

He mainly prefers to re-invest all the money that his videos generate into creating more content and this is why his videos on YouTube look bigger and bigger with time.

MrBeast shared that he tries to pay himself for "what I spend personally in a month just to stay even”.

MrBeast's ventures

Apart from running the most-subscribed YouTube channel in the world, MrBeast also keeps himself busy with several other business ventures.

He is the owner of several virtual restaurants and operates the snack company Feastables. He is even looking after MrBeast Burgers, which works through ghost kitchens for taking online orders and delivery.

Is it a normal habit?

Dr James Mohs, money and accounting professor at the University of New Haven, believes that the way MrBeast uses his bank account is not normal.

Speaking to MarketWatch, Mohs said that if he had $10 billion net worth, then he would "probably have $1 billion in cash reserves, (or) 10%”.

This amount, according to the expert, is not just to take care of the living expenses like any other normal person, but even to cover up the "investment losses".

Calling it the "Warren Buffett syndrome," Mohs said, "You keep enough cash, not for a rainy day, but so much cash for investment opportunities.”

However, looking at MrBeast's recently shared videos, it does not feel that he is caring about being normal, as he continues to invest more and more into his content, without much worrying about his bank account.
