Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, a compilation of the classic arcade titles, is reportedly set to launch on September 29, giving fans a chance to relive the iconic days of arcade cabinets and Game Boys.
According to IGN, the release date may differ depending on the region, with some users spotting a September 30 launch. First announced during Sony’s State of Play in June, the collection is being developed by Digital Eclipse.
The release date surfaced via a leak on the Xbox app, where eagle-eyed Reddit users spotted the September 29 listing. However, the date has since been removed and replaced with a vague 'later this year' placeholder.
According to IGN and Reddit speculation, the official release date could be announced on August 1, during the Evo weekend in Las Vegas.
What is Legacy Kollection?
A newly released trailer showcased the return of iconic entries such as Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat II, Mortal Kombat 3, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, and Mortal Kombat 4, along with additional versions from arcade, console, and Game Boy platforms. The collection will be available on PC (via Steam), Nintendo Switch, the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and S.
All included arcade and console titles will support online multiplayer with rollback netcode for smoother matches. The bundle also features exclusive interviews, development documents, and behind-the-scenes content, offering a deep dive into the franchise’s legendary history.
