According to a New York Post report, VP Kamala Harris’ campaign shelled out around $2.5 million to Oprah Winfrey’s production company for a gala town hall event, and although it was thought at first that a million dollars were spent for the talk show legend’s September town hall event with Harris, a new report has revealed that this particular amount was nowhere near the actual figure that was paid by the Democrats for bringing her onboard the event.
Sources have revealed, according to reports, that Winfrey was paid around $2.5 million dollars through her production house, for hosting the celeb-studded town hall event, which was designed to give Kamala Harris the necessary boost in the US Presidential election race.
Kamala Harris' campaign duly broke all records for the huge amount of donations compiled in the shortest amount of time. Now, it’s also likely one of the most expensive in Presidential history, as her campaign blew through $1.5 billion in an approximation of 15 weeks, says NY Post. However, The TV star has denied receiving any personal payments from Kamala Harris and a former adviser to the Harris campaign also claimed that there was not payment from their end.
