"Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story" rocked the Netflix chart and now the details of the third season of 'Monster' series has been unveiled. The details were divulged during the premier of the second season "Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story".

'Monster' season 3 plot will be based of the life of Ed Gein, the suspected notorious serial killer who was also known as "Butcher of Plainfield" or the "Plainfield Ghoul". Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon star Charlie Hunnam will be playing the lead role in the third season.

Gein, who, like Dahmer, was from Wisconsin, became notorious in the 1950s when investigators discovered that he not only murdered many individuals but also dug up graves from a cemetery near his home and fashioned all manner of household items and apparel from human parts. Gein's case inspired several important pop culture characters, including Norman Bates in "Psycho" and Buffalo Bill in "Silence of the Lambs."

Following the success of 'Dahmer -- Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story', which premiered in 2022 and became a major hit for the streaming platform, Netflix has expanded the 'Monsters' series into an anthology format.

This new second season shifts focus to the infamous case of Lyle and Erik Menendez, two brothers convicted in 1996 for the murders of their parents, Jose and Mary Louise "Kitty" Menendez, according to Deadline.

The season delves into the dramatic case that captivated the public and media in the early 1990s.
