Monster Hunter Now Season 2: Everything we know about release date, what to expect, freebies and more

Niantic has released details for the Monster Hunter Now Season 2 update, Dancing in the Tempest. This update introduces the Gunlance, Kushala Daora event, and new monsters including Khezu, a Dexerto report said.


Release Date
Monster Hunter Now Season 2 starts on June 13, 2024, at 12:00 am (local time) and ends on June 23, 2024, at 2:59 pm (local time). It includes new monsters, event quests, and one additional weapon.


What to Expect
Kushala Daora makes its debut in Monster Hunter Now with the Elder Dragon Interceptions feature. Khezu and Basarios will join Monster Hunter Now at the start of Season 2. They appear once players unlock the corresponding story quests. Season 2 adds the Gunlance weapon, combining the defensive gameplay of Lance with explosive power.

New Armor Skills
With Kushala Daora, Basarios, and Khezu, new armor skills are added. These include artillery, like Gunlance shells, Wyvern’s Fire, Charge Blade phial attacks and Bowgun Sticky ammo.

Freebies
To celebrate the start of Season 2, Niantic gives all players 250 additional slots with a free Item Box Expansion. This upgrade is available as a Supply Item in the in-game shop. Additional storage expansions can be purchased with Gems.

Monster Appearances
Season 2 changes the rotation of monsters appearing on the field. From June 13, 2024, to June 23, 2024, the appearance rate of Khezu in swamp areas and Basarios in desert areas will increase. The density of monsters in the fields will also increase.

Monster Hunter Stories Celebration Quests
From June 24, 2024, to July 14, 2024, Niantic will release special Monster Hunter Stories event quests. Completing these quests will earn players limited-edition hunter medals and layered outfits.
