Moana live-action release date, cast: 'The Rock' Dwayne Johnson reveals all details

"The Rock" Dwayne Johnson has revealed the release date of Moana live-action. He also shared that the production for Moana live-action adaptation by Disney will commence in August.

Dwayne Johnson has also posted details about the upcoming movie. "Disney has found its live action Moana family," The Rock's post reads.

"The Rock" has revealed that Catherine Laga'aia will play the lead role of Moana. John Tui will feature as Moana's father Chief Mui, Frankie Adams will be her Sina. Rena Owen will play the role of Gramma Tala. The Rock will play the role of MAUI.

"It’s our deepest honor to share the legends, songs, dances and traditions of our Polynesian culture with all of you and your families around the world," Johnson wrote on social media.

Directed by Thomas Kail, Moana live-action adaptation will be released in June 27, 2025. Music director is Manuel Miranda.
