Leach’s legendary coaching career

Mike Leach never participated in collegiate football, but in 1987 he began his coaching career at Cal Poly.

He was Texas Tech University's head coach from 2000 until 2009. He held the same position at Washington State University from 2012 to 2019.

A major breakthrough came in his life when he became the head coach at Mississippi State University in 2020. While there, he became the national coach of the year twice and created the NCAA's record-breaking air raid offense. He has received three honors for conference coach of the year.
