Missing Titanic sub controlled by Logitech PC, video game controller? What we know so far
A 6.5-meter submersible that was on a mission to visit the Titanic wreck site has gone missing in the North Atlantic. Now, a report has emerged that it was being controlled by a $30 Logitech PC controller.

Among the people on board are British businessman Hamish Harding, Businessman Shahzad Dawood, and his son and the operating firm's founder-CEO Stockton Rush among others. The company offers an eight-day trip to see Titanic wreckages at a whopping $250,000 per person.
In a recent development, searching bodies have been scanning North Atlantic’s remote area where the Titanic rests — about 400 miles away from Newfoundland, Canada, and 13,000 feet underwater. Coast Guard officials warned that the submersible has barely 70 to 96 hours of oxygen left.
According to a Forbes report, the submersible is (or was) being controlled by a $30 Logitech PC controller—the Logitech G F710. A video surfacing online shows the controller placed in the submersible. For clarification, it is not a PlayStation controller, although it resembles one. It is rather compatible with Windows Vista and Windows 7, both of which are over 15 years old operating systems and discontinued. It is also not the latest or flagship controller. For instance, it is now available on Amazon in the 'renewed' section for $30. The reviews are mostly poor.
OceanGate Expeditions' CEO also admitted to using a game controller saying, "We run the whole thing with this game controller." While social media is flooded with wondering how the firm chose to use a game controller for real-life operations, Logitech is yet to speak on this matter, the Forbes report says.
