During recent times, Tesla is going through a tough time. Latest reports are claiming that a family of a guy who died in a Tesla Model S crash is eventually blaming Tesla CEO Elon Musk for their son’s death.

The family of Genesis Giovanni Mendoza Martinez who eventually suffered a sudden and painful death in a crash while his Tesla was in ‘Autopilot’ mode is suing the company Tesla and CEO Elon Musk, reported Independent.

According to Independent, the lawsuit actually claims that the company misrepresented its self-driving technology as perfected and safe for public use. Genesis Giovanni Mendoza Martinez who was aged 31 was killed when his Tesla Model S collided with a fire truck on February 18 in the year 2023 while he was using the Autopilot feature believing it could drive by itself.

In the same accident, the brother of Genesis Giovanni Mendoza Martinez who was named Caleb was severely injured in the accident.

Tesla eventually placed an argument that its vehicles are designed safely and that the crash might have been due to Genesis Giovanni Mendoza Martinez’s negligence. The company has faced severe criticism from the US government for overstating its self-driving capabilities.

The lawsuit eventually alleges that the Autopilot system of Tesla is actually flawed and unable to recognize emergency vehicles while it led to the fatal collision, asserted Independent. At the same time, it also accuses Tesla of neglecting to address known issues with Autopilot and misleading its consumers about the technology’s capabilities.
