Milwaukee Bucks help George Hill raise money for military families

The focus of this year's celebration is on helping families with basic needs, including food, shelter, transportation, child care, and medical care. One of their strategies for reaching their financial target of $300,000 is holding a silent auction. About 300 households will be helped with this money. Many autographed sports memorabilia items will be up for auction.

About $250,000 was raised during last year's Christmas celebration. This year, the goal was raised to be able to help even more people.

The Milwaukee Bucks guard plans to host the next G3 Holiday Bash on December 16 at the Harley Davidson Museum. The event is a Wish for Our Heroes fundraiser and will aid military personnel and their families.




Hill's former coach and Air Force veteran, Gregg Popovich, as well as Hill's extended family and in-laws, all gave him insight into the challenges active-duty military personnel and their families faced, and he made the decision to provide his support. The event's emphasis may have shifted throughout time, but it has always centered on providing for the basics.

Since 2009, there has been a Hill event in almost every city Hill has visited over his 14-year career. Wisconsin, however, took longer than expected to establish itself as a regular Hill stop. Originally scheduled for Cleveland in 2018, his event was postponed due to a trade to the Bucks and a subsequent flu epidemic.

Hill originally planned to host about 200 military families at the resurrected Thiensville event the year before. Still, the positive feedback from attendees and the support of Harley Davidson have encouraged him to go much bigger for this year's December 16 celebration.
