Microsoft Teams gets dynamic animated background. Here's how to use it on PC, iOS, Android

Microsoft has been enhancing its video calling platform with new features over time, and the latest addition is the capability to set up dynamic animated backgrounds. To those unaware, this feature enables users to replace their backgrounds with digital wallpaper.

Microsoft Teams often competes with the likes of platforms like Zoom and Google Meet, which more or less offer the same capabilities. The feature to add a custom background has been available for a while now on Microsoft Teams and Zoom, and now Google Meet also has it with a recent update.

With this update, users will get some animated backgrounds to replace the mess behind with a beautiful sight.


At first, there will be still images, and animated versions will follow in June. It will be a sight to see how Redmond's tech giant's video calling platform competes against Zoom, which has had the feature for years now.

"Featuring all-new images, the reimagined visual library for Teams has been thoughtfully designed to represent the people that use them and how they work best,” Microsoft's design team wrote in a blog.

• Launch Microsoft Teams on your Windows device
• Join or create a new call
• Now, click on the background filters and choose from the available ones.

How to use dynamic animated backgrounds on Microsoft Team iOS and Android?

• Launch Teams on your Android or iOS device and sign in to your account.
• Start a meeting by clicking on the Meet option in the top right corner.
• Select a background animation or picture from the "change background" option on Microsoft Teams app for Android or iOS to change the dynamic background.
