Microsoft Investigates

Microsoft acknowledged the outage in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter). The company said it is investigating the problem, which has prevented users from accessing multiple Microsoft 365 services. Microsoft has not yet provided any details about the cause of the outage. The company also did not give a timeline for when the issue would be resolved.

What is the status of outage?

At the peak of the outage, around 23,000 users reported issues with Microsoft 365. However, as time passed, some users on social media mentioned that services were beginning to function normally again. As of 9:12 A.M. ET, Downdetector showed more than 16,500 users experiencing trouble accessing Microsoft’s products.

Azure Cloud and AT&T Involvement

Microsoft's Azure cloud platform also responded to user complaints. Azure mentioned that it is looking into issues related to connecting Microsoft's services through AT&T networks. This raises the possibility that the telecom operator may be linked to the outage.

AT&T’s Response

AT&T has not responded to requests for comments regarding the potential connection between their network and the outage till now. Over 4,000 users reported issues with AT&T services during the Microsoft 365 outage.
