Gretchen Whitmer, the Michigan governor, and Tudor Dixon, the Republican opposition, debated for over an hour over education policies, abortion rights, safety measures in schools, the situation of the public roads in Michigan, and the state's policies of managing the COVID-19 pandemic.

WOOD-TV organized this debate in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Both politicians portrayed each other as "radical" during the face-off.

Tudor Dixon, a businesswoman, said that, under the governance of Gretchen Whitmer, the last four years of Michigan state were "disappointing". She pointed out that the price of every commodity has increased, people are less safe, the conditions of schools are worsening, and the public roads have not been fixed.
