Michael Jackson's First-Ever Studio Recording to See Limited Digital Release

The song will now be available for the first time on digital platforms. Fans can purchase "Big Boy (One-derful Version)" as part of a limited-edition release beginning from December 7.
This release is a collaboration between the song's owner, Recordpool, and anotherblock, a Swedish blockchain-based music and royalty marketplace.
The "open edition" package, available for $25, includes the "Big Boy (One-derful Version)" via anotherblock's player; images of master tape and agreements; downloadable song stems; and a digital vinyl B-side featuring "Michael the Lover" and "My Girl" along with their stems.
The "limited edition" costs $100 and includes everything in the open edition, as well as newly designed artwork and nine additional songs from the Steeltown sessions in 1967:

Journalist Jake Austen discovered the studio master recording for "Big Boy (One-derful Version)" in 2009.
Steeltown Records released a later version of "Big Boy," re-recorded in a separate session, as The Jackson 5's first single in January 1968.
One-derful was a 1960s Chicago label owned by brothers George and Ernie Leaner, located on South Michigan Avenue near Chess Records on the city's Record Row. Eric Leaner, Ernie's son, and the One-derful estate are partners in the release.
Katherine Jackson in a statement said that through anotherblock's endeavor, the Jackson family's initial recordings of their musical heritage found a new rhythm for the digital age. It demonstrates that the Jacksons' story, like their music, is timeless.
