Echaverry was an MDPDs Robbery Intervention Detail member. A massive crowd of officers gathered at the hospital to support Echaverry and his family. Miami Marlins dedicated a jersey to Echaverry and showed support at Wednesday's game by etching Echaverry and number nine on the jerseys.Echaverry was a bike enthusiast, FIU graduate, fiance, brother, and son who was much loved. He loved his MDPD job and gave it his all. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is doing the job of compiling details for the investigation. They are starting with the armed robbery at a convenience store at Dania Beach. The suspected armed robbers were responsible for a deadly shootout, and the police tracked and killed the second suspect at the Miami Springs hotel.
There is no official word for the funeral of Echaverry yet. We wish the Echaverry family strength and peace.
