Prince George’s County Police Chief George Nader said officers responded shortly and found an adult male, believed to be in his 20s, shot and killed while ordering food. “This was a targeted shooting… it wasn’t random,” Nader said during an on-scene briefing. “The suspect appeared to know where the victim was, chased him down, and immediately began shooting.”
Detectives said the shooter fled the scene, likely in a car, and remains at large. Investigators have video of the suspect but are not yet releasing a description. “We’re searching for a suspect that we have on video,” Nader said.
Police temporarily locked down several nearby schools “out of precaution,” the chief added, stressing there is no active threat to the community.
The food court area remains closed, but the rest of the MGM complex is open. “Everything we need to gather is in that food court,” Nader said. “MGM is safe, the harbor is safe.”
