Webb (9-8) lasted just four innings, allowing six runs on eight hits. Meanwhile, Clay Holmes (9-5) held the Giants to one run over five innings despite early trouble in the first. The Mets bullpen—Huascar Brazoban, Rico Garcia, and Jose Castillo—combined for four shutout innings.
New York added insurance in the ninth with Luisangel Acuña scoring on a wild pitch and Soto driving in another run. The Mets out-hit the Giants 10-9, with Nimmo and Soto both recording two hits.
