At the inaugural prayer service, Episcopal Bishop Mariann Budde delivered a poignant sermon urging US President Donald Trump to show some mercy at least towards LGBTQ+ communities and undocumented immigrants, reported Associated Press.

According to Associated Press, while speaking at the Washington National Cathedral, Bishop Mariann Budde referenced US President Donald Trump's belief in divine protection while imploring him to have compassion for those feeling really vulnerable under his Presidential administration.

The interfaith service, which actually marked a departure from traditional inaugural prayer services eventually focused on national unity and included all sorts of religious leaders from diverse backgrounds. It should be also noted that the conservative evangelicals were present but not given speaking roles while in spite of being among Donald Trump's staunchest supporters, asserted Associated Press.
