Melania Trump, the wife of former US President Donald Trump, has launched a line of handcrafted Christmas ornaments and animated NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) to celebrate the season. While launching the limited-edition decorations and NFTs, the former first lady stated that she was "filled with hope" and was "inspired" by American spirit and experience.

Melania is rolling out "The Christmas Star" exclusively on her official website, MelaniaTrump.com. Besides, she is launching the "American Christmas Collection" via USA Memorabilia. The collection will feature six traditional American Christmas ornaments. She would also launch redeemable NFTs of decorations. For her NFTs of ornaments, Melania will be using a blockchain network named "Solana" (SOL), which uses the eco-friendly proof-of-stake protocol to mint non-fungible tokens. An NFT is immutably and permanently minted on a blockchain network.

After purchasing these Christmas NFTs, owners can save and show these artworks as collectables. They can also resell these NFTs on a secondary market. Melania told Fox News Digital that this Christmas holiday would be filled with inspiration and hope. Interestingly, Melania Trump has personally designed the "Christmas Star" ornaments and their NFTs. Melania Trump started her NFT venture in 2021. Many consider NFTs as an investment option, just like cryptocurrencies.

Earlier this year, as the coronavirus pandemic began to take hold in the U.S., the first lady tweeted photos of herself wearing a hard hat while reviewing blueprints for the pavilion. Her critics lashed out, with some calling the photos insensitive during the coronavirus scare. She pushed back in a follow-up tweet encouraging "everyone who chooses to be negative & question my work at the @WhiteHouse to take time and contribute something good & productive in their own communities."
