The buzz in Hollywood is that actor and Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle may mark her return to acting in a film once rejected by her husband Prince Harry’s late mother.

Markle is rumored to be considered for The Bodyguard 2, a sequel to the hit 1992 film The Bodyguard starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner. Fans eager for her return amid challenges in the industry.

Since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have stepped back from their royal duties and now live in America, Meghan Markle is considering a comeback in Hollywood.

Kevin Costner recently spoke about how when The Bodyguard 2 was first thought about, he envisioned Princess Diana as the perfect leading lady.

Costner went on to reveal that Princess Diana had called him and inquired about the possibility of a kissing scene in the film, with which she wouldn’t be comfortable. The actor recalled how he had reassured her, saying, "Yeah, there's going to be a little bit of kissing, but we can make that work, too."

But The Bodyguard 2 never took off, with or without Princess Diana. Now, Meghan Markle’s fans are hoping she gets a chance in the film.


Meghan Markle still struggling in Hollywood

In spite of being a star in the hit series The Suits, Meghan Markle is struggling to land roles in Hollywood. Variety reported in April 2023 that Markle had signed with the renowned agency William Morris Endeavor (WME).

But her recent controversies with the royal family and her company’s deals with Spotify and partnership with Netflix not going too well, Meghan Markle is not getting her hands on any good projects.
