Reintroducing the iconic comic book quartet into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel has unveiled the 'Fantastic Four'. While it has confirmed Pedro Pascal to star as the group’s stretchy leader Reed Richards, Mission: Impossible star Vanessa Kirby will portray Sue Storm or Invisible Woman. Marvel has also announced that Joseph Quinn will play Johnny Storm or Human Torch, and The Bear's Ebon Moss-Bachrach will appear as Ben Grimm or the Thing.

Taking to Instagram, Marvel has shared the news with a retro Valentine's Day image. It wrote, "Happy Valentine’s Day from Marvel’s First Family! Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn are The Fantastic Four."

Release Date

According to a report published by 'Variety', 'The Fantastic Four' will be released on July 25, 2025. 'Thunderbolts' is scheduled to arrive on May 2, 2025. The films have swapped their release dates.


'Captain America: Brave New World' will be released in February while 'Blade' will arrive in November this year.

Marvel has one one film for release in 2024- 'Deadpool & Wolverine', which will be released on July 26.

Who is making the 'Fantastic Four'?

If media reports are to be believed, 'Fantastic Four' has been in the works ever since Disney acquired the rights to the characters in the 2019 Fox deal. WandaVision’s Matt Shakman will direct the new film.

Josh Trank directed a 2015 reboot attempt starring Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, and Jamie Bell. The MCU first introduced Reed Richards in 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

But the Fantastic Four had not been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie rights belonged instead to 20th Century Fox, which produced three films with the characters.
