McDonald’s is adding a little mischief to the holiday season with the U.S. debut of its Grinch Meal. McDonald’s is kicking off December with a holiday twist, bringing The Grinch Meal to U.S. customers for the first time. The themed meal, inspired by one of Christmas’ most famously grouchy characters, made its debut in Canada in 2024 and quickly became a hit. Now, the chain is rolling it out nationwide for a limited time, starting Tuesday, Dec. 2, as per a report by USA Today.

How is the Grinch Meal different this year?

The highlight of the promotion is a brand-new menu item: Dill Pickle “Grinch Salt” McShaker Fries. The fries come with seasoning on the side and a McShaker bag so customers can mix their own tangy creation. Leaning into the character’s signature attitude, the Grinch adds his own touch through a handwritten message shared by the company: “THiS iS MY MEAL AND i DiDN’T PARTNER WiTH McDONALD’S OUT OF THE GOODNESS OF MY HEART.”


Following its early success in Canada, McDonald’s says the decision to bring the meal to the U.S. was simple. Alyssa Buetikofer, chief marketing and customer experience officer of McDonald’s USA, called it a “no-brainer” and added that “The Grinch gets it–the holidays are chaotic, and he’s thrilled to give our fandom permission to embrace their inner Grinch with his festive mischievous meal and spirited socks," as per a report by USA Today.

According to McDonald’s,The limited-time meal includes either a Big Mac or 10-piece McNuggets, new Dill Pickle “Grinch Salt” McShaker Fries, a drink, and collectible Grinch and McDonald's themed socks. The socks come in red, blue, yellow, or green, adding a collectible touch for fans, as per a report by USA Today.
