American production company Skydance Media has abruptly scrapped hollywood star Matthew McConaughey's film "Dallas Sting". The California-based production house pulled the plug after there were some allegations related to the film's story.

McConaughey's movie is based on soccer. The actor was about to play the role of a coach in the film that features a soccer team of Dallas high school girls that went to China to compete in a tournament in 1984. Just six weeks from the start of production, the company has pulled the plug owing to the disturbing allegations on various aspects of the film.

Why Skydance canceled McConaughey's movie?

Full details of the cancellation are yet to come; however, it is reported that the producers received some severe allegations related to the film's story. Following that, the production company initiated an investigation and found that the allegations were strong enough to cancel the entire movie. McConaughey has also backed off from the film.

The guy from Texas, who had no prior coaching experience, went on to train a team of girls from Dallas high school, playing under-19 league, and called themselves 'The Sting,' named after the Robert Redford film in 1973, hence the movie 'Dallas Sting.'

The Sting was led by Bill Kinder and went on to defeat major teams from China, Japan, Italy, and Australia in the championship tournament.
