Plot

The new Matlock series is loosely inspired by the Andy Griffith show that aired from March 1986 to May 1995. The reboot follows Madeline Kingston (played by Kathy Bates), a wealthy older woman who takes on the false identity of Matty Matlock. The name comes from the original Matlock series, which exists as a TV show in the reboot’s world and holds personal significance for Madeline. She uses this identity to secure a job at the well-known law firm Jacobson Moore. The series includes many twists involving Madeline Matlock.
