The pandemic prevented her and her husband, who have been together for nine years, from getting married when they had planned to after they became engaged in 2019.

Marie announced their engagement in October and has been blabbing about it on Facebook for the past 10 months. She received 40 RSVPs, but only received 20 people who confirmed their attendance the week before.

Marie is left with the question of why people weren't there, as she hasn't received many messages explaining why people weren't there or giving excuses.

However, she is grateful for this because it allowed her to get a clear understanding of who cared about her and her husband. She admits that they've been dealing with grief and have done a lot of reevaluating their lives.

Marie is still a little embarrassed and moving through the stages of grief after the mass no-show. When asked for a re-do, she agreed but said her husband is extremely introverted and is also dealing with residual anger.

Many of his family members didn't show up as well. One of the saddest parts about the whole thing is that she didn't receive any cards from people.

Marie's original video, which has now reached eight million views, shows the heartbreaking moment the couple entered their empty reception hall. They walked alongside their son and tried to come to terms with what had happened.

Marie said she dreamed that she would walk into a bunch of people hooting and hollering for them. However, she ended up having to hold herself together because she had no idea how to deal with her venue being almost completely empty.
