For sky gazers, there is no other love greater than the joy of looking at the planets in the night sky. There have been several moments in the past months where astrophiles were blessed with some of the most rare celestial sightings visible to a naked eye.

As we enter March 2025, the solar system is bringing another chance to spot the Red Planet or Mars at its best from Earth. It is time to mark the calendars if one wants to observe the best planetary positions of Mars in March 2025.

Best time to spot Mars, other planets

A telescope and a keen interest in astronomy is all you need to make sure that you do not miss any of the sightings of Mars in this month. While January and February have already been a delight this year for sky gazers, March is not behind. The Red Planet will be at some of its best positions. The visibility of Mars from Earth depends on its size, which in turn depends on its distance from the Blue Planet.

According to a report by BBC, the best time to observe Mars is around when it is placed exactly opposite to the Sun in the sky. This phenomenon, also known as opposition, last took place on January 16. Now, as the planet moves away from Earth, March could be the appropriate month to observe Mars in its glory.
