Marlon Brando’s handwritten letter to French girlfriend goes under hammer. See what was it about
Marlon Brando’s letter to his ex-girlfriend about ending their relationship is up for sale in an auction.

In the letter, filled with spelling errors, Marlon Brando used the common "it's not you, it's me" approach as he tried to end the relationship with the dancer and actor in an amicable manner.
“In order that you won't think me a complete boor, I am writing you this letter to explain that because of an erratic, flighty, fly-by-night, temperament I wish not to humiliate and degrade your sentiments by seeing you only at my mood's convenience,” star writes in letter.
Further, star requests his then-other half to accept the letter with “open heart”. “I'm sorry I could not have tried harder to be less self indulgent and therewith, a little more compatable. My intuitions were flawlessly scroupulous, but my emotions, unfortunately, unstable. I will remember you with fondness, regard and appreciation. When we meet in France. I trust my behavior will be a trifle more adult”.
In the letter, Marlon Brando signed off with "with warmest Marlon" and included a postscript that reads, "Please give my kind acknowledgements to your mother, if she'll accept them."
According to the auction details, Marlon Brando and Solange Podell first met in 1947 when she was invited backstage during a performance of "A Streetcar Named Desire." Following their split, Brando focused on achieving stardom in Hollywood, while Podell pursued photography and trained under Richard Avedon. Brando went on to win two Best Actor Oscars for his performances in "On the Waterfront" and "The Godfather."
