Marks & Spencer has revealed its Christmas food advertisement for 2022 and viewers think it’s hilarious. M&S fans took to social media to praise the retailer’s “Magic of Xmas” ad, which featured iconic comedy duo Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders.

Viewers loved the ad and found it to be hilarious, where a raggedy dog toy and a fairy come to life to feast on lips-smacking food the high-street retailer’s offering for Christmas. However, many customers wondered why their beloved Percy Pig was left out.

M&S is known for releasing creative advertisements before Christmas. Last time around, the retailer roped in Tom Holland, the latest Spiderman, for a voiceover for Percy Pig. Fans loved it so much that many of them were admittedly gutted by the fact that Percy Pig didn’t make it this year. Responding to “absolutely gutted” fans, M&S mentioned on Twitter that Percy Pig and Fairy discovered Christmas delights last year. The retailer claimed that Fairy needed a new friend for the adventure this time around but also added in a side note that Fairy was still great friends with Percy.

The new ad shows Fairy searching for a “little friend” and find’s it in Wylie, the dog’s basket, in the form of an old chew toy, Duckie. Fairy is voiced by Dawn French, and Duckie by Jennifer Sauders.
