Mariah Carey makes a return to Las Vegas to celebrate Mimi shows

Christmas is arriving early this year in Las Vegas. On Tuesday it was announced by Mariah Carey that she will be making a return to Las Vegas for a host of performances at the Doly Live at Park MGM this April. The event called Mariah Carey: The Celebration of Mimi Live in Las Vegas will be honoring "The Emancipation of Mimi", her 10th studio album's anniversary.
As per the press release, the Las Vegas will be featuring fan favorites from the album along with other successes from her unmatched remarkable career. Carey will be delivering performances in eight shows on April 12, April 13, April 17, April 19, April 20, April 24, April 26, and April 27.

The singer of 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' earlier has held numerous concert residencies in Las Vegas which include #1 to Infinity, lasting from May 2015 to July 2017 and The Butterfly Returns lasting from July 2018 to February 2020.


"The Emancipation of Mimi" which came out in April 2015 was a commercial success for Carey, becoming one of the best-selling albums of the 21st century giving rise to hits that include "WE Belong Together", "It's Like That", "Shake It Off" and others. It afterward made to the list of the 500 greatest albums of all time of Rolling Stone. Among the artists who were featured were Jermaine Dupri, Nelly, and Snoop Dogg.

The announcement arrives two days post Carey made an appearance at the 2024 Grammys where she was awarded the best pop solo performance honor to Miley Cyrus on Sunday.

Cyrus has stated that she got stuck in the rain in traffic, thinking that she was going to be missing the moment. And she could have missed the award but not Mariah Carey.

In December, Carey concluded that Merry Christmas One and All! Tour constituting of 16 shows at the time of the holiday season. At the time of the final performance, she said that Christmas brings her so much joy and that there is no less joy than it.
